Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide gentle, respectful assistance with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and eating
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist residents with transferring, positioning, and mobility to ensure safety
- Support nurses with clinical tasks and maintain accurate documentation
- Keep resident rooms and common areas clean, comfortable, and inviting
- Communicate warmly with residents and their families to foster trust and comfort
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Maine
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- CPR certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Prior experience in long-term, acute, or skilled nursing care is a plus
- Ability to work per diem shifts with flexible availability
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of basic patient care and infection control
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation habits
- Compassionate approach to resident care
- Physical capability to lift and support residents safely
