Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the lead dentist during pediatric dental procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring patient comfort
• Educate young patients and their guardians on proper oral hygiene practices
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling
• Create a welcoming and calming environment for children

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• State radiology certification or ability to obtain before start
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with children in a gentle, patient manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Familiarity with dental software and record keeping
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and infection control protocols
• Compassion and empathy for anxious patients
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
