Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical and emotional condition to nursing staff
- Document care provided and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment following infection control standards
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and their families
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Delaware
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain before starting
- Must meet Delaware background check and fingerprinting requirements; ability to provide a state or federal issued ID
- COVID-19 vaccination or a documented medical/religious exemption
- Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented with a passion for serving others
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Empathy and patience when caring for residents and interacting with families
- Knowledge of basic patient care principles and infection control practices
- Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
- Works well in a fast-paced environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Respect for resident privacy, dignity, and individual preferences
