Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical and emotional condition to nursing staff
  • Document care provided and vital signs accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment following infection control standards
  • Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and their families

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Delaware
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain before starting
  • Must meet Delaware background check and fingerprinting requirements; ability to provide a state or federal issued ID
  • COVID-19 vaccination or a documented medical/religious exemption
  • Compassionate, reliable, and team-oriented with a passion for serving others
  • Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Empathy and patience when caring for residents and interacting with families
  • Knowledge of basic patient care principles and infection control practices
  • Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Respect for resident privacy, dignity, and individual preferences
