Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest safety standards
• Take and develop dental X-rays, capturing clear images for accurate diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records while following privacy regulations
• Provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification (Maryland license or eligibility required)
• Valid X-ray certification (Radiology) as required by Maryland state regulations
• Previous experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (experience with Denticon a plus)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while keeping patients calm and comfortable
