Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain the highest safety standards
- Take and develop dental X-rays, capturing clear images for accurate diagnosis
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records while following privacy regulations
- Provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (Maryland license or eligibility required)
- Valid X-ray certification (Radiology) as required by Maryland state regulations
- Previous experience in orthodontic assisting is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (experience with Denticon a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while keeping patients calm and comfortable
