Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare and sterilize orthodontic instruments and equipment to maintain a safe environment
- Take dental X-rays and impressions to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper orthodontic care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming treatment space for every patient
- Document patient information and assist with treatment plan updates
Qualifications
- Current orthodontic certification required
- Maryland dental assistant certification or licensure as applicable
- X-ray certification preferred
- Prior experience in an orthodontic or dental setting is a plus
- Commitment to providing excellent patient care
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with dental practice management software, including Denticon
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and adherence to infection control standards
