Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations and orthodontic procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe, clean environment for every patient.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, intraoral scans, and impressions as directed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, helping them feel comfortable and informed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts in the dental software system.

Qualifications

• State certification or registration as a Dental Assistant (Maryland preferred)
• Orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• X-ray/radiography certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfort using dental practice management software, including Denticon

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong chairside manner and patient communication skills
• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and sterilization protocols
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental office
• Familiarity with digital radiography and dental charting systems
