Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive MedSurg/Tele nursing care to a diverse patient population with medical and behavioral health needs.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to ensure prompt intervention.
• Perform skilled procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, maintaining strict sterile technique.
• Collaborate with a dynamic healthcare team including psychiatrists, behavioral health techs, and security to ensure patient safety.
• Educate patients and families on medications, discharge planning, and self-care.
• Float to ED psych holds and MedSurg floors as needed to support the team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact license (willing to obtain).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• A minimum of 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience.
• Must have Level 1 Trauma experience (will consider Level 2).
• Prior psychiatric nursing experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg and Telemetry assessment skills
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Skilled in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control
• Comfortable with Cerner EMR and video monitoring systems
• Excellent patient communication and de-escalation skills
