Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and remove plaque, tartar, and stains
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and taking vital signs
- Take and develop dental x-rays as needed for diagnostic purposes
- Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth from decay
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
- Document patient care and treatments accurately in the dental record
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Pennsylvania
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Previous experience in a dental practice preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, equipment, and procedures
- Strong clinical skills in prophylaxis and scaling
- Familiarity with dental software for charting and records
- Excellent patient interaction and education skills
- Understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
