Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and maintain the operatory, sterilizing instruments and organizing supplies
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed
• Provide compassionate patient care before, during, and after treatment
• Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene instructions
• Document patient information and maintain accurate clinical records

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification/licensure as required in Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Radiology (X-ray) certification
• Prior experience in oral surgery or surgical dental assisting is a plus
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and respond quickly

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and surgical protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to comfort patients
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Knowledge of dental software and patient management systems
