Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents using clinical assessments to determine functional abilities and therapy needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on restoring independence and safety
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve function, mobility, and ADLs
• Train residents and caregivers on strategies and adaptive techniques to support daily living
• Collaborate closely with nursing and rehabilitation staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Participate in team meetings, mentorship, and continuing education to keep skills sharp and share best practices

Qualifications

• Current California Occupational Therapist (OT) license (required)
• Strong interpersonal and clinical skills with a commitment to compassionate care
• Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute care preferred but not required
• Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing, rehab staff, and interdisciplinary teams
• Reliable documentation skills and familiarity with regulatory compliance

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in treatment planning and therapeutic interventions
• Skilled in activities of daily living (ADLs) assessment and training
• Strong documentation practices and understanding of regulatory requirements
• Clinical assessment and resident evaluation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
