Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, evidence-based rehabilitative treatment under OT supervision, including ADL retraining and therapeutic activities
• Deliver therapeutic exercises and use assistive/supportive devices to maximize patient function
• Assess patient progress and communicate findings with the supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatment plans
• Document all regulatory and clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record and record treatment minutes precisely
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about treatment goals and home strategies to support recovery
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings to advocate for patient needs
• Support discharge planning by providing input on progress and recommended follow-up care
• Supervise and mentor OTA students under the guidance of the supervising Occupational Therapist
• Collaborate with the care team to obtain necessary DME or supplies in accordance with clinical requirements

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license required
• Minimum 1 year OTA experience required
• LTC/SNF experience required
• NBCOT / AOTA compliance and adherence to state practice acts
• Must hold or obtain Missouri state licensure (Compact allowed)
• New grads accepted if they have Level II fieldwork experience (not just Level I observation)
• Proven ability to document in electronic medical records and accurately record treatment minutes
• Comfort participating in productivity management and rehabilitation-focused meetings

Knowledge & Skills

• Accurate EMR documentation and treatment minutes recording
• Patient and family education techniques
• Experience with Medicare A/B, managed care, and productivity expectations
• Ability to collaborate in utilization review and rehabilitation meetings
• Group therapy delivery and classroom-style in-services/trainings participation
