Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the pediatric hospitalist team as the Medical Director, shaping care delivery and clinical standards
• Provide excellent inpatient pediatric care and manage hospital rounds for medical patients
• Consult on pediatric patients in the emergency department and on surgical patients as needed
• Manage on-call coverage and ensure timely, high-quality responses while on call from home
• Foster collaboration with the sister program at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for shared consultations
• Develop and support teaching efforts through an opportunity for faculty appointment with Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine
• Drive quality improvement initiatives, mentor clinicians, and contribute to leadership training

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of prior leadership experience (required)
• Experience in inpatient pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine
• Comfort consulting in emergency department and surgical settings
• Willingness to collaborate with regional partners and participate in inter-hospital consultation
• J-1 visa candidates accepted (Not accepting Locums candidates)
• Ability to obtain or hold an active Idaho medical license and hospital credentials

Education

• MD or DO (physician degree) with training in Pediatrics; board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics expected

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in pediatric patient care and inpatient pediatrics
• Experience with emergency department pediatric consultations and surgical consults
• Effective hospital rounding practices and on-call management
• Clinical leadership, team-building, and faculty-style teaching experience
• Comfort with interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring of staff
