Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to assigned patients as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility policy and scope of practice
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document clinical findings accurately
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient care plans
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with required health screenings and immunizations
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and demonstrate ongoing proficiency
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to educate, reassure, and advocate for patient needs
• Participate in shift handoffs and maintain accurate, timely charting for continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) in good standing; Michigan license preferred or eligible
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Successful completion of License/Certificate Verification and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Must be able to complete required health clearance items: fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, influenza and COVID-19 vaccination documentation, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap
• Negative Trinity 10-panel drug screen and completed physical/health statement
• Color vision testing and Trinity respirator evaluation as required
• Reliable, professional, and able to adapt to different facility workflows and patient populations

Education

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and current LPN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fundamentals in direct patient care and medication administration
• Solid infection prevention practices and immunization compliance
• Clear clinical documentation and effective communication with the care team
• Ability to follow facility protocols and Trinity competency standards
• Comfort working independently on per diem assignments and adjusting to new units quickly
• Good observational skills and ability to escalate changes in patient condition promptly
