Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care that helps residents feel seen, safe and respected
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and changes in condition, then report them promptly to the nursing team
• Support residents during walking, transfers and range-of-motion activities to keep them moving and strong
• Keep patient rooms, equipment and common areas clean, organized and comfortable
• Offer emotional encouragement and a friendly presence to residents and their families
• Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists and other team members to deliver seamless care

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license in Vermont, or the ability to obtain one
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• At least one year of LNA experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
• Completed COVID-19 vaccination series or a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer
• Ability to bring a state or federal issued ID to the facility and wear a photo badge at all times
• A warm, patient-centered attitude and a genuine love for helping others
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team

• Patient care fundamentals and safe patient handling techniques
• Vital sign monitoring and accurate documentation
• Infection control and universal precautions
• Understanding of resident rights and dignity-focused care
• Time management and the ability to prioritize throughout a busy shift
• Clear, kind communication with residents, families and coworkers
