Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily living assistance to geriatric residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist residents with mobility and transfer using proper body mechanics and safety protocols
• Monitor and document vital signs, food intake, and resident behavior; report changes to nursing staff
• Serve meals and assist residents with eating and hydration
• Engage residents in social and recreational activities to improve quality of life
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
• Valid state or federal issued identification and ability to wear a photo badge
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption per facility policy
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist elderly residents
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable team player

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care, infection control, and safety procedures
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a care team
• Empathy and patience when caring for older adults
• Basic computer and documentation skills
• Time management and attention to detail
