Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
• Take and develop dental X-rays, and perform intraoral scans for accurate treatment planning.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care with a warm, supportive approach.
• Maintain patient records and manage scheduling, helping every visit run on time.

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training, with a current Maryland Dental Assistant license where applicable.
• Experience in orthodontic procedures and familiarity with braces, aligners, and other appliances.
• Current CPR/BLS certification and valid X-ray certification.
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization protocols.
• Proficiency with dental software for patient records and scheduling.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to juggle a busy practice.
• A gentle touch and empathetic chairside manner to help patients feel at ease.
