Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during exams, procedures, and appliance adjustments
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to infection control standards
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Denticon software
• Ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient in the orthodontic office

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or eligibility to obtain one
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Radiography certification for taking dental X-rays
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience preferred
• Comfortable working with patients of all ages

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, brackets, wires, and procedures
• Familiarity with Denticon software is a plus
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization best practices
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced clinical environment
