Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform nerve conduction studies (NCS) and autonomic studies on patients with peripheral and autonomic nervous system disorders
  • Collaborate closely with physicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure accurate diagnostics
  • Prepare patients for electrodiagnostic procedures, explaining each step to ease anxiety
  • Maintain and calibrate EMG equipment to ensure high-quality test results
  • Document all test findings accurately in EPIC charting system
  • Uphold strict infection control and patient safety protocols, including fingernail policy compliance

Qualifications

  • Active BLS (AHA) certification
  • Registry by American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET)
  • Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T) via AAET
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in neurodiagnostic testing
  • Ability to reside within 50 miles of the facility (valid driver's license required at submission)

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in nerve conduction studies, autonomic testing, and electromyography
  • Solid understanding of neuroanatomy, physiology, and pathology of the nervous system
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
  • Strong patient education and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
