Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.
- Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, including explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions as directed.
- Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes.
- Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies and ensure operatory rooms are fully stocked.
- Provide chairside support and anticipate the orthodontist's needs.
Qualifications
- Orthodontic Assistant certification required (COA or equivalent).
- Current CPR/BLS certification strongly preferred.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in an orthodontic setting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients.
- Must be authorized to work in the US and able to pass background check.

- Orthodontic assisting techniques and chairside procedures
- Dental radiography (X-ray) and safety protocols
- Infection control and sterile instrument handling
- Patient care and customer service best practices
- Electronic dental records (EDR) and dental software
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
