Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Prepare patients for orthodontic treatments, including explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions as directed.
  • Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes.
  • Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies and ensure operatory rooms are fully stocked.
  • Provide chairside support and anticipate the orthodontist's needs.

Qualifications

  • Orthodontic Assistant certification required (COA or equivalent).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience as a dental assistant, preferably in an orthodontic setting.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and sterilization techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US and able to pass background check.
