Shift Type: Varied 12-hour shifts, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM and 3:00 AM - 3:00 PM; weekend rotation every 3rd weekend; no on-call required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to OB/GYN patients throughout their shift
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans using age-specific criteria
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and health maintenance
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes for mothers and babies
• Provide guidance and supervision to LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit demands with a flexible approach

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on OB/GYN nursing experience
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment
• Active Ohio or Compact RN license
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications
• Ability to function as a first assist and scrub OB is highly preferred
• Skills checklist current within one year, pertinent to OB/GYN

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of OB/GYN nursing practices
• Skilled in fetal heart monitoring and interpreting tracings
• Neonatal resuscitation expertise with NRP certification
• Strong patient assessment and care planning abilities
• Patient and family education skills to promote understanding and confidence
• Teaching and mentoring LPNs, PCTs, and support staff
• Surgical first assist and scrub OB experience for high-risk deliveries
• Sound clinical judgment based on scientific knowledge and experience
