Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment
• Take and develop dental radiographs to support accurate diagnoses
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care to promote healthy smiles
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes with attention to detail
• Support the front desk with scheduling and patient flow to keep the practice running smoothly

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or license in Maryland
• Experience working in an orthodontic practice is a plus
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• CPR certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization protocols
• Familiarity with dental software for patient records and scheduling
• Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with patients of all ages
• Attention to detail for precise record keeping and instrument preparation
• Ability to anticipate the orthodontist's needs and work collaboratively
