Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety
• Monitor and report changes in residents' health or behavior to nursing staff
• Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration while respecting dietary needs
• Engage residents in social interactions and activities to promote dignity and quality of life
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
• Prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatrics is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with residents and team members
• Reliable and able to follow care plans and facility policies

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident rights and HIPAA/privacy regulations
• Skills in taking vital signs, documentation, and infection control
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses and the care team
• Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
• Time management and attention to detail
