Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Perform routine tasks such as vital signs, feeding assistance, and documenting care accurately
• Foster a warm, respectful environment by engaging residents in conversation and meaningful activities
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to ensure individualized, person-centered care

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Previous experience working with geriatric populations is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude

Education

• Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Safe transfer and lifting techniques
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection prevention and control practices
• Teamwork, time management, and clear communication with clinical staff and families
