Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents—helping with grooming, bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Assist nursing staff with daily tasks and carry out assigned care plans reliably
• Monitor resident well-being and promptly report changes to the clinical team
• Support a safe and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Engage residents with respectful conversation and gentle companionship to enhance quality of life
• Document care activities and observations clearly and accurately

Qualifications

• Current GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification in good standing
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on per diem schedules
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but enthusiastic learners are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Basic clinical observation skills—able to notice and report changes
• Comfortable assisting with transfers and mobility support following safety guidelines
• Ability to follow written care plans and document care accurately
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to support fellow staff
