Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to geriatric patients
Take and report vital signs promptly and accurately
Maintain accurate resident documentation and report changes in condition to nursing staff
Support safe mobility and transfers, following proper body mechanics
Collaborate with the care team to promote a clean, comfortable, and dignified environment

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (required)
Previous experience as a GNA or CNA preferred but not mandatory
Comfort and ability to work overnight hours (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Basic patient care skills and ability to follow care plans
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
CPR/BLS certification preferred

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a state-approved GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of geriatric care principles and respectful elder communication
Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Familiarity with assisting residents with ADLs and mobility support
Strong observational skills to notice and report changes in resident status
