Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency department care for a 20-bed ED with ~21k annual visits
• Deliver timely, evidence-based diagnostics and treatments for acute presentations
• Collaborate closely with APPs and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient flow
• Document care and clinical decisions accurately using Paragon EMR
• Participate in a physician-led model that supports continuous improvement of clinical services
• Support program growth and quality initiatives at Holzer Health System in Gallipolis

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine — OR — Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with demonstrated EM experience
• Clinical experience required — not accepting new graduates; proven ED experience preferred
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (visa candidates are not accepted)
• Willingness to reside within the immediate local area or relocate as discussed during interview
• Comfort working 12-hour ED coverage shifts in a hospital setting

Education

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of residency in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (with EM experience)
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine OR Board certification in Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with emergency experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid experience with Emergency Department (ED) care and acute patient management
• Experience working 12-hour shift ED coverage and thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Paragon EMR for documentation and order entry
• Strong collaboration skills for working with APPs, nursing, and administrative teams
• Ability to make clear, timely clinical decisions and communicate effectively with patients and families
