Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents and patients
- Assist with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs and monitor for changes in condition
- Document care accurately and communicate observations to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and mobility, following facility protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required; must meet New York state requirements)
- Comfortable with resident care duties and safe patient handling
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained within facility timeframe
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient-centered care and basic nursing support
- Vital signs measurement and basic charting/documentation
- Infection control principles and safe handling techniques
- Clear communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
