Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor residents and report changes in condition promptly to nursing staff
- Help with safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics
- Document care provided accurately and timely, maintaining resident confidentiality
- Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, resident-centered environment
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification in the state of Connecticut
- Current basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Comfortable with hands-on patient care and physical tasks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a compassionate attitude
- Previous long-term care experience preferred but new grads are welcome to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic nursing care and infection control practices
- Familiarity with charting and electronic or paper documentation
- Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Good observational skills and ability to follow care plans
- Customer service mindset when interacting with residents and families
