Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and evaluations to develop individualized plans of care that get patients moving
• Deliver hands-on and evidence-based orthopedic, neuro, and geriatric rehab interventions
• Provide gait training, mobility and balance work to improve safety and independence
• Implement home exercise programs and educate patients and families to support long-term recovery
• Use therapeutic modalities such as cryotherapy and hydrotherapy appropriately and safely
• Document evaluations, reassessments, discharge plans, and goals clearly and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support smooth transitions of care
• Float to acute inpatient areas occasionally and adapt care to different patient populations

Qualifications

• Minimum ~1 year of physical therapy experience preferred (candidates with less than 1 year will be considered)
• Certifications preferred: BLS and Manual Therapy
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy with orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, and post-operative rehabilitation preferred
• Comfort working with assistive devices (crutches, walkers, gait belts) and common orthopedic conditions (TKAs, THAs, RCRs, spinal surgeries, etc.)
• Spanish-speaking clinicians are preferred but not required
• Willingness to float to acute inpatient side occasionally as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment, evaluation and strong documentation skills (plans of care, reassessments, discharge planning)
• Gait training, balance and mobility interventions
• Home exercise program design and patient/family education
• Modalities knowledge: cryotherapy and hydrotherapy
• Experience with orthopedic diagnoses (TKA, THA, ACL, arthroscopy), spine and nonoperative musculoskeletal conditions
• Neurology exposure: CVA, Parkinson’s, TBI care
• Aquatic therapy and sport medicine skills are a plus
• Time management and ability to manage a clinical caseload efficiently
