Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide pediatric primary care for patients from newborn through 18 years in a family-centered model
• Monitor physical and psychosocial growth and development and document findings accurately
• Perform age-appropriate screening and support diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
• Use OCHIN EPIC EMR to record visits, manage patient charts, and coordinate care
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, offering guidance and health supervision
• Support immunization, screening, and preventive care workflows in collaboration with the care team
• Deliver culturally sensitive care to primarily Spanish-speaking, underserved migrant populations

Qualifications

• Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential — NHA, AMT, or AAMA required
• Minimum 2 years CURRENT pediatric clinic experience (within the last 3–6 months preferred)
• Bilingual Spanish — required to serve a primarily Spanish-speaking patient population
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification — required
• OCHIN EPIC EMR experience — highly preferred
• Previous travel assignment experience — preferred
• Submission package required: cover page, detailed work history, and 1 supervisory reference signed within the past two years
• Note: Facility will not consider travelers residing within 25 miles of the hospital

Education

• CMA certification (NHA, AMT, or AAMA) — required
• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum); additional allied health training a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric primary care and growth & development monitoring
• Age-appropriate screening protocols and early intervention awareness
• Family-centered care and strong patient/caregiver communication
• Proficiency with OCHIN EPIC EMR (charting, orders, documentation)
• Bilingual Spanish communication skills for clinical and educational interactions
• Basic life support and emergency awareness (BLS, AHA)
• Clinic workflow, immunization processes, and teamwork in outpatient pediatric settings
