Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications accurately while following pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists with filling and restocking medication orders to keep operations running smoothly
- Maintain accurate inventory records and alert pharmacy leadership to shortages
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and HIPAA standards at all times
- Provide courteous, clear communication to patients and clinical staff to enhance patient care
- Document work clearly and proactively escalate issues to pharmacists or supervisors
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification required in California or ability to obtain prior to start
- Previous experience in a hospital or medical pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle repetitive tasks with high accuracy
- Clear background check and current TB screening or willingness to complete before start
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; reliable and punctual
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pharmacy Technician training program certificate or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with medication dispensing workflows and pharmacy inventory management
- Comfort using electronic health records and pharmacy information systems
- Understanding of medication safety principles and regulatory requirements
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced medical environment
- Basic math skills and attention to labeling accuracy
