Roles & Responsibilities

• Care for, handle, and store surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgery
• Process and redistribute sterile goods throughout the Medical Center
• Assist Sterile Processing Specialists with team lead duties, including maintaining competencies
• Ensure instruments are properly decontaminated, assembled, and sterilized to support patient safety

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience
• Active HSPA certification held for at least 2 years
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification
• COVID vaccination required - declinations not accepted
• Previous travel experience required
• Willingness to work the facility's schedule, including weekends and on-call as determined
• Locals accepted; no radius rule

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in sterile processing and instrument handling
• Knowledge of decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain competencies
• Familiarity with surgical instruments and medical center redistribution
• Ability to work collaboratively with Sterile Processing Specialists
