Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe, efficient environment
  • Provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist during braces, retainers, and other orthodontic procedures
  • Take digital X-rays and dental impressions accurately
  • Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Maintain detailed patient records and update treatment plans using dental software
  • Manage inventories of orthodontic supplies and keep equipment in top condition

Qualifications

  • Current Maryland dental assistant certification (or ability to obtain before start)
  • Radiology/X-ray certification for the state of Maryland
  • Prior experience in an orthodontic office is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with orthodontic tools and procedures
  • Excellent communication and patient interaction skills

Knowledge & Skills

  • Comfortable using dental practice management software (experience with Denticon is a plus)
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic treatment workflows
  • Strong organization and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A gentle, patient-focused chairside approach
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a dedicated dental team
