Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment for each patient
- Take and develop dental x-rays and impressions as instructed
- Apply and remove braces, wires, and other orthodontic appliances
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and care of orthodontic devices
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment charts
Qualifications
- Must hold orthodontic certification (COA or equivalent)
- Prior experience in dental assisting, preferably in orthodontics
- Current CPR certification is a plus
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in orthodontic procedures and materials
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
- Ability to take and interpret dental x-rays
- Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
