Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to students and school staff during the overnight shift
• Assist with activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility assistance, and safe transfers
• Monitor and report changes in condition promptly to the clinical team or supervisor
• Perform routine documentation accurately and maintain confidential records
• Support safe environment protocols, including infection control and clean workspace practices
• Collaborate with school health staff and families to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in California (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
• Clear background check and up-to-date TB/health screening per school requirements
• Comfortable working with school-aged children and adolescents; patience and a calm demeanor
• Strong communication skills and ability to document clearly and timely
• Previous experience in school health, pediatric care, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and valid CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and ADL assistance with attention to safety
• Basic clinical observation skills and recognizing when to escalate concerns
• Familiarity with infection control, PPE use, and safe transfer techniques
• Clear documentation and electronic charting basics
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and staff
• Time management for busy single-night assignments
