Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality orthopedic nursing care to post-op and medical-surgical patients
• Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removal with attention to wound healing
• Manage Foley catheters, NG tubes, and wound VAC maintenance and removal safely
• Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning
• Adapt quickly in a fast-paced unit while maintaining a family-like approach to patient care

Qualifications

• Current RN license (NC License required)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• Orthopedic nursing experience preferred
• Hospital/Med-Surg experience preferred
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR and common orthopedic equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic nursing fundamentals and postop care
• Wound care, dressing changes, and wound VAC maintenance
• Suture/staple removal techniques
• Foley catheter and NG tube management
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt in a fast-paced environment
