Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients on the medical-surgical/telemetry unit with attention to safety and dignity
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following clinical protocols
• Interpret telemetry and act promptly on changes in cardiac rhythm or patient status
• Document care and patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education in a compassionate, understandable way
• Respond quickly and effectively to urgent situations and assist in emergency interventions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California or compact RN license as applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing preferred (1+ year recommended)
• Comfortable administering medications, managing IVs, and working overnight shifts
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Clinical assessment and triage skills for adult medical-surgical patients
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Accurate electronic health record documentation
• Team collaboration, time management, and patient-centered communication
