Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered neonatal care for infants in the NICU
• Perform assessments, monitor vital signs and manage ventilators, CPAP, PIVs and central lines as appropriate
• Execute neonatal procedures such as circumcisions and assist with ROP exams when needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Document care accurately in the Neonatal Notes Manager EMR
• Educate and support families, offering clear communication and compassionate care
• Contribute to a positive, drama-free unit culture and mentor less experienced staff when possible

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be able to work in Colorado or obtain state licensure prior to start)
• NICU experience required — this unit recruits travel RNs with hands-on neonatal skills
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS preferred
• Comfortable with isolettes, CPAP, central lines and neonatal monitoring
• Professional, team-oriented, and bubbly attitude fits this unit well

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong neonatal assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience with Neonatal Notes Manager EMR or similar documentation systems
• Skilled in neonatal procedures and equipment: isolettes, CPAP, PIVs, central lines
• Ability to manage 3:1 patient ratios in a fast-paced NICU environment
• Excellent communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Calm under pressure, organized, and detail-oriented
