Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care assessments and treatments for patients of all ages, with a focus on pediatric cases
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy as ordered
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators, adjusting settings to meet patient needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to develop and adjust respiratory care plans
• Document patient responses to treatments and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Support patients and families with education on respiratory conditions and home care techniques

Qualifications

• Active Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in good standing
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required; PALS preferred
• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited respiratory therapy program
• Previous experience in an acute care or pediatric setting is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory care modalities, including mechanical ventilation and oxygen delivery systems
• Ability to interpret blood gases and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Strong assessment and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
• Compassionate patient-centered approach with excellent communication
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care accurately
