Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and implement respiratory care for pediatric patients
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators, adjusting settings as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Document patient responses and modify treatment plans accordingly
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques

Qualifications

• Current Oregon Respiratory Therapist license (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS and PALS certifications strongly preferred
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Previous pediatric or critical care respiratory experience preferred
• Availability to work flexible per diem shifts, including rotating schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles and practices
• Proficiency in ventilator management and airway support
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
• Compassionate bedside manner with pediatric patients and families
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Strong documentation and communication skills
