Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients across the hospital
• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status, adjusting treatments as needed
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and ventilator management
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care plans
• Respond quickly to emergency calls and code blue situations
• Document all care accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license (or compact eligibility where applicable)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Comfortable working rotating 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced acute care setting
• New graduates are encouraged to apply!

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory care protocols and equipment
• Proficiency with ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen delivery systems
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in emergent situations
• Clear communication and teamwork abilities
• Compassionate, patient-first approach to care
