Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting
• Assess patient respiratory status and implement appropriate treatment plans
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol medications, and ventilator management
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including rotating schedules

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough understanding of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation
• Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
