Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled respiratory care to acutely ill patients, managing ventilators and advanced airway equipment
• Perform assessments and develop individualized respiratory treatment plans
• Deliver emergency respiratory interventions and support during codes and rapid responses
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapies accordingly
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, home devices, and disease management
• Document treatments, assessments, and patient responses accurately and promptly

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support); ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Must be able to obtain Tennessee state respiratory license or be eligible for reciprocity
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical ventilation and critical care populations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and weaning skills
• Proficient with airway management, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
• Ability to interpret ABGs and adjust treatment plans
• Skilled in noninvasive ventilation and oxygen therapy modalities
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
