Shift Type: Block scheduling with every other weekend and one summer and one winter holiday required, standby call required
Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend deliveries as the baby nurse providing expert newborn care
- Monitor and care for infants requiring phototherapy, respiratory support, and treatment for hypoglycemia or sepsis
- Start and maintain IVs while assisting with umbilical line placement
- Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments to support 3 mother-baby couplets when needed
- Transfer infants to higher levels of care when clinically indicated
- Collaborate with neonatologists and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Washington
- NRP and BLS certifications required
- Experience attending deliveries as the baby nurse strongly preferred
- Skilled in IV start and maintenance, Bubble CPAP, and High Flow support
- Comfortable floating between SCN and postpartum assignments
Knowledge & Skills
- Level 2 NICU and postpartum experience preferred
- Proficient with Bubble CPAP, High Flow, and CPAP/BiPAP equipment
- Knowledge of common newborn conditions including respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, and neonatal withdrawal
- Ability to titrate drips such as D5W and TPN
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for newborn and postpartum care
