Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to radiation oncology patients
• Plan and coordinate individualized care plans with the interdisciplinary team
• Assess patients regularly and respond to changes in condition with sound clinical judgment
• Supervise and mentor support staff while promoting a safe, efficient care environment
• Adhere to universal precautions and infection control policies to protect patients and staff
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, symptom management, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support services to ensure seamless care transitions

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or eligibility for Ohio licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; oncology certifications are a plus
• Previous oncology experience preferred, especially in radiation oncology
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Comfort with electronic health records and standard nursing documentation practices

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of oncology nursing principles and radiation therapy basics
• Patient assessment, care planning, and symptom management expertise
• Infection control practices and universal precautions proficiency
• Ability to supervise and coordinate care across disciplines
• Effective patient and family education skills with empathy and clarity
