Shift Type: Night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (12.5-hour nights). Schedule includes weekend coverage; must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Night shift / telemetry (may float to sister Med-Surg units)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to progressive care/telemetry patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and quickly identify changes in patient status
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR (CPO/Tap and Go)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Serve as a patient advocate and communicate effectively with patients and families
• Prepare patients for procedures (Endoscopy, IR, OR) when needed and ensure safe handoffs
• Support unit staffing needs and serve as a reliable team member during busy night shifts

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact RN license as applicable)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent nursing experience (medical-surgical/telemetry preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with medical telemetry monitoring and progressive care (PCU) settings
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• CMSRN encouraged (preferred) and BSN is a plus
• Previous charge or leadership experience is a plus and helpful when staffing needs arise
• Ability to work night shifts and commit to required weekend coverage

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Strong medical-surgical assessment and clinical decision-making
• Proficient in electronic documentation (Cerner) and use of patient observation tools
• Excellent communication, teamwork and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies
• Familiarity with telemetry equipment, VC150 monitors and remote monitoring workflows
