Registered Nurse - Post Partum/Mom Baby

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating AM and PM shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, weekends rotating
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to new moms and their babies during the crucial postpartum period
- Monitor vital signs and recovery progress to ensure both mother and baby are thriving
- Administer medications and manage drips including magnesium and insulin with precision and care
- Perform non-stress tests and support patients experiencing hyperemesis with empathy and expertise
- Collaborate closely with a dedicated team of nurses, charge nurses, and support staff to deliver exceptional care
- Educate and reassure families as they begin their journey together
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas or compact license
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- Previous L/D or Antepartum experience is a plus
- Teamwork oriented with excellent communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with Meditech and CPN electronic medical records
- Skilled in managing insulin and heparin drips
- Knowledgeable in magnesium administration and non-stress testing
- Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Patient ratios typically 3:1 to 4:1, occasionally 2:1 based on acuity
