Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to PCU patients including post-open-heart recovery and cardiac step-down
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, titrate drips, and manage ventilated patients as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units during low census or staffing crises when necessary
• Document accurately in Epic EMR and adhere to facility protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio (or compact state) - must be currently active
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac step-down experience including open-heart recovery and cardiac drips
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable caring for ventilated patients in rare circumstances
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is a must

• Expertise in cardiac telemetry, step-down, and post-operative care
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
• Excellent communication and patient/family advocacy
