Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-op and orthopedic nursing care to assigned patients
• Independently manage a patient load of up to 5 patients while prioritizing safety
• Perform wound care including dressing changes and aspiration as indicated
• Assess and manage patient pain in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient care and assessments in the Meditech electronic health record
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, providers, and ancillary services to support optimal outcomes
• Support unit initiatives that drive patient experience and quality outcomes
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment and contribute to excellent patient care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Colorado licensure or compact eligibility preferred)
• Minimum 2 years relevant nursing experience (per job posting)
• Experience working on a surgical or orthopedic unit is required
• Able to independently manage up to 5 patients (must-have for this role)
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Preferred: pain management and orthopedic experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong orthopedic and post-operative nursing knowledge
• Proficiency in dressing changes and aspiration procedures
• Pain management best practices for orthopedic patients
• Comfortable working independently with a 1:5 nursing ratio
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation
• Teamwork, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills
