Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room for a variety of procedures (neuro, spine, total joint, gastric sleeve, general surgery, ENT, pediatrics, urology, cardiac CABG/valves)
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, techs and the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth operative flow
• Prepare and maintain periop equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for each case
• Document patient care and perioperative records accurately in Meditech EMR
• Participate in on-site orientation and unit policies to maintain compliance and quality standards
• Rotate on-call duties with the team and support flexible scheduling for patient care needs

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• OR nursing experience — candidates without heart experience will be excluded from heart room assignments
• CNOR certification preferred but not required
• Experience or interest in specialties such as robotics, ortho, eye, GYN, ENT, plastics, thoracic and general
• Available for a 13-week travel contract beginning 2026-01-20

Education

• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN (typical hiring profiles prefer formal nursing education; specific degree not mandated in this posting)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing workflows and periop equipment proficiency
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and good communication skills
• Ability to adapt to floating (may float to pre-op) and on-call rotations
• Clinical competence across a range of surgical procedures including cardiac (CABG/valves) when heart experience is present
